Happy halloween!

So today has been super crazy hectic and I didn't get a chance to swatch anything new for you.  But, before you get out the pitch forks and torches I just so happen to have some pictures and a review of Zoya's summer pixie dust in Liberty!
I absolutely love this shade of blue!  The sparkle is amazing and the application was a lot easier than I thought it would be!
I took a photo with the nails out of focus to catch some of the shine.  Honestly pictures do not do this gem justice!  I caught myself glancing at these nails far too often throughout the day.  I followed the instructions and used no base or top coat with liberty.
I was truly shocked when there was no staining from this stunning blue shade.  Blue polish is one of my all time favorite colors but if I don't lay down a heavy base I usually have some serious staining.

Zoyas pixie dust was my first experience with a textured polish so I was really concerned with wear and tear and no top coat. I am happy to report that I had this mani on for five days, in a train, with two kids and no smoke breaks! I didn't even pick at it due to stress because it held up so well!

Feel free to leave me a comment below and like the blog on Facebook!  Once I get 100 likes I will be doing a giveaway that will include a pixie dust (or two?).  Hope you all had a haunted halloween and I will see you tomorrow.

Kunimitsu - Nathaniel's Phoenix **picture heavy**

Hello again lovelies!  Today is going to be a picture heavy post since I am sharing a polish that is near and dear to my heart.  I had mentioned earlier that my son lives in California while I live in Pennsylvania.  After he left I contacted the owner of Kunimitsu Nail Potions and asked if she could make me a custom nail polish.  After a little deliberation and me explaining my sons likes and dislikes she sent me photos of the custom blend.  I was stunned at how amazing it turned out!  I was even able to name it myself so without further ado I present to you Nathaniel's Phoenix.
Nathaniel's Phoenix is a red to gold thermal polish with small red hex glitters.  The above picture is when it is cold with two coats and a top coat.  Since this is a custom polish there were only three bottles made.
So I figured I should probably just do a collage of some the pictures since I took so many.  I love wearing this color since it reminds me of my son every time I look at my nails.

So in closing today I highly recommend going to Kunimitsu Nail Potions for any custom blends you want.  Also I will be doing a giveaway soon and a bottle of this may just be in the prizes!  Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments section below!  See you tomorrow and I hope you all have a great night.

My Stash

So lovelies, I have realized that I have not shown you my battle station at all.  I can only feel ashamed since I feel the need to share the monstrosity that has taken over my downstairs bathroom!  Take warning though since I took these pictures with my cell phone and couldn't really get good lighting or angles.  Also there still needs to be some reorganizing done since my OCD can not decide if I should reorganize by brand or color.  I have a feeling that organizing by brand is going to win.
Yup, there it is.  All of my polish in all of its glory!  From what I can tell I have just under 500 bottles not including top coats, base coats, and treatments.  The truly sad part is none of my nail art supplies are pictured here.  I have another three drawer storage full of caviars and decals and studs.
So the top shelf is all of my indie nail polishes.  It is a small collection but it is steadily growing.  I also have my color club holographic polishes on there because I love them so.
I took pictures of two shelves at a time so you can see just how packed they are with polish.  Again I am going to reorganize by brand since all of the different bottle heights are driving me batty.
I made all of the foam board inserts myself from a tutorial on YouTube and they were really easy to make.  They are super durable and if you just have them sitting on a shelf you can decorate and paint them however you want!  I made an extra one for my daughter to keep in her room.  Her stash is small but growing as I feed the addiction!
I have reserved the bottom two shelves for tools, remover, and polishes I have yet to put away.  I was really lucky to have found this shelf on a local swap meet Facebook page for only 60 bucks!  It is technically a media shelf for DVDs and the such but it works perfectly as my own personal lacquer land!
I hope you enjoyed my stash post!  Feel free to leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Special Request Post - Model City Polish - Sheena Is a Punk Rocker

So I received a special request from a very good friend of mine to review this polish today.  It just so happens that I am in a fantasmic mood. (yes I am aware that really isn't a word but nothing else describes just how wonderful I feel, don't judge me)  I booked my son's flight to come home for the holidays today and now the countdown to December 17th begins!  Light back story is that my son is 13 years old and living with his father in California due to school systems being amazing out there.  While I live 3,000 miles away in Pennsylvania.
Anyway ... on to the polish!  Sheena Is A Punk Rocker is a black jelly base filled with bright pink dots, fine silver glitter, and fine silver holographic glitter.  When I say filled I mean PACKED!  The swatches I did were only two coats and I felt like I had pink and silver diamonds on my nails with how sparkly they were!
I have already raved about Model City Polishes formula but have I raved enough about the customer service!  Ordering from the Etsy store is a breeze and the shop owner is such a joy to talk with!  I really love ordering indie nail polishes because of the interaction I am able to have with the owners themselves.  Try asking a Wal-Mart employee anything about one of their nail polishes and you will see what I mean.
So I smudged between camera shots.  Sue me! No I kid.  I just couldn't wait for this to dry to take the pictures.  The next time I use this polish I will definitely use three coats, not for opacity but so I can have that much more glitter on my nails!
My final picture really show cases the silver and holographic glitters in the polish!  You can find Sheena Is A Punk Rocker on Model City Polishes Etsy store!

And now for the craft of the week!  Today I want to share with you a purse I had made for a friend a long time ago.  This is an all crocheted purse so a lining is definitely recommended (not that I did though)
I used THIS pattern for the purse and found it really simple to follow.  I added the flowers and handles myself to add a touch of oomph to it.
I love the way it looked when it was all closed up!  This would be a perfect purse for a little girl who doesn't carry everything around.  Since I didn't add a liner to it the every day use of it definitely stretched it out some but if your goal is to use it for a produce bag it can only get better with some stretch!

I hope you enjoyed my post today!  Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know if you have any special requests for a review or even a cool craft idea!  See you all tomorrow.

Model City Polish - Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

Hey Hey lovelies!  Today was an awesome day for me and I am super psyched to share one of my favorite polishes in my collection with you today.  I can hardly contain myself as I type this and I would LOVE some feedback from you all!

Wanna Be Your Boyfriend is a black jelly base filled with bright blue dots and small holographic teal glitter. The swatches I did were two coats with a fast dry top coat.  I am in love with the teal glitters in this polish and the depth that the jelly base gives it.  I have a thing for jelly polish in general since it just always looks so squishy!
Please forgive my clean up in this picture but I posed and loved the way it looked!  By the time I was done snapping photos I realized I hadn't cleaned up my cuticles at all.  I am sure within the next few weeks of posting I will get better at not only clean up but also taking the pictures.
I could not stop staring at my nails today with this gorgeous polish on.  I love the thickness of the jelly base without it being gloopy.  Application was a breeze and the glitters just went on in a perfect random way.
I absolutely recommend this polish for everyone!  At $8.00 plus shipping a bottle it is a steal!  You can find Wanna Be Your Boyfriend on Model City Polishes etsy shop along with all of their other amazing nail polishes.

Hope you enjoy and treat yourself to a new polish!  Check back tomorrow for my weekly craft idea as well as another nail review!

Emerald and Ash - Helix Nebula and Dark Matter

Welcome back fellow lacqueristas!  Today was a rather lazy day for me so I have two polishes to share with you!  These polishes are the only two of Emerald and Ashes that I currently have.  I can not wait to get more of theses into my nail shelf!

First up we have Helix Nebula.  This black jelly polish is full of 4 different sizes holographic hex glitter along with blue and pink flecks of color.  When I opened the package I could not get over the sparkle!  Even my boyfriend commented on it.

I did 3 thin coats of Helix Nebula with a thick coat of Nina Ultra Pro fast dry top coat.  I could not get over the sparkle in this polish!  I just absolutely love it.
I really liked the formula on this polish as well as the bottle.  It makes for easy storage having a square bottle with the setup that I have.  The price of the Emerald and Ash polish is absolutely amazing at only $6.50 for a full sized bottle.  You can find Helix Nebula on their etsy store.

Next up I want to share Dark Matter with you as well.  I got these polishes as gifts and actually squealed when I opened the package.  I was really impressed with how well they were packaged to prevent any damage.
I can not get over the amazing color blend on this polish!  Dark Matter is a shimmery blackened blue jelly that is full of gold, red, black, white and holographic glitters.  The blue is absolutely stunning and the glitters compliment each other in every angle.
I did 2 coats of Dark Matter with a thick coat of Nina Ultra Pro on top.  I really can not wait to get my hands on more of Emerald and Ash's polishes!  Be sure to look at all of their amazing polishes on the Etsy store! Thanks for reading and look back tomorrow for a review of one of my favorite polish brands ever!

Model City Polish - Hey Ho, Let's Go!

Welcome back lovelies!  I apologize for not posting yesterday but by the time I attempted to I was so exhausted and worried about my kitty cat who lives in California.  She has been very sick lately and had to be put to rest today.  So tonight I am starting early!

Today I want to share with you Model City Polishes Hey Ho, Let's Go!  I love this polish so much and can't wait to hear from you guys if you like it!  Be sure to leave feedback so I know what you want to see more of.   And with that here is my review!

Hey Ho, Let's Go! is a black jelly base filled with square, large hex, small hex, and fine silver holographic glitter.  I am a huge huge fan of jelly polishes and what isn't better with glitter?  All of my pictures are of three coats of polish with one coat of Nina Ultra Pro's fast dry top coat.

In the first picture you will see that I smudged just before snapping which made me completely sad that I couldn't wear this color for longer.  My OCD however just wouldn't allow for it.
I absolutely love the glitters in this polish.  they went on so smoothly without much fishing at all.  The application was a breeze and the formula is so rich!  I really love the smokiness of black jelly polishes so this was a big hit with me!  I can't wait to show you the rest of my Model City collection!
You can find Hey Ho, Let's Go on Model City Polishes etsy store for a very reasonable $8.00 plus shipping.  I know to some people spending $8.00 on a single bottle of polish seems expensive.  However, when it comes to indie polishes they are definitely worth the price!  At lease, in my experience they are.

Please don't forget to leave feedback and let me know how you are enjoying my ramblings thus far.
Have a great night friends!

Kunimitsu Nail Potions - Orion's Belt

Hello lovelies!  For my very first blog post I want to share with you one of my favorite indie makers.   Kunimitsu has an amazing selection of polishes available for us nail junkies!  I currently have 2 of them as well as a custom blend.  Today I am going to share Orion's Belt with you.

Orion's Belt is a deep dark metallic burgundy with baby blue holographic glitters.  Let me say this polish is absolutely stunning!  I got full coverage in two coats but I tend to be heavy handed with the brush at times.  The maker suggests three thin coats for the best coverage.

My photos show two coats with a top coat of Nina Ultra Pros quick dry.  I hope to improve my photos in the very near future with some day time photos however it has been nothing but over cast here lately so I may have to make myself a light box.

I think this polish is gorgeous on its own however it would also go great over a black or another dark color.  I had no staining with this polish and the formula was a dream to work with.  I only have a mini bottle at the moment but I will rectify that situation soon!

You can get a bottle of Orion's Belt through Kunitmitsu Nail Potions etsy store.  I highly recommend getting this on your nails as soon as possible!
